It’s Love a Library Month!
There’s something about old libraries that I love, ones like Crested Butte Old Rock Library in Colorado! I visited there the day after I learned it’s “love a library month,” how coincidental is that!
This sweet library has the old town charm, being built as a schoolhouse originally in 1883, but with the modern conveniences with computers and printers and of course, a variety of books and fun reading and crafting events for children. The building was a two story, two room schoolhouse until 1927. It became a library in June 1993.
The function of libraries has changed over the years. When was the last time you researched something by going to the library? I hope the charisma and need for libraries will never become obsolete. How many places can you borrow something for free, find a place to study and read, be surrounded by adventure and information, join in story time or camaraderie and feel the history around you.
